Bawankule asks NMC to ensure regular water supply in Nehru Nagar Zone within week

Nagpur: The Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Monday asked Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to take necessary measures for ensuring regular water supply in Nehru Nagar Zone within seven days. Residents of Wathoda, Nandanvan, Vithobanagar, Gadgebaba Nagar, Bhagyashree Nagar, Diamond Nagar, Bapu Nagar, Bhande Plot and other areas are facing water scarcity for several days. Bawankule directed the officers concerned to correct the bills of water supply within 15 days. The citizens of Nehru Nagar Zone lodged complaints about water scarcity. They have also complained about timings and low pressure of water supply.

Nagpur: The Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Monday asked Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) to take necessary measures for ensuring regular water supply in Nehru Nagar Zone within seven days. Bawankule was addressing a Jan Samvad programme in the Zone. This was the last Jan Samvad programme of the Guardian Minister Bawankule. From December 3 on every Monday, Bawankule held Jan Samvad programme in all ten zones of NMC and listened to the problems of citizens. The citizens of Nehru Nagar Zone lodged complaints about water scarcity. They have also complained about timings and low pressure of water supply. They alleged that civic administration is neglecting their complaints about water supply. Bawankule directed the officers concerned to correct the bills of water supply within 15 days. Mayor Nanda Jichkar, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Sudhakar Kohale, Zone Chairperson Rita Mule, Municipal Commissioner Abhijit Bangar, Corporators Pintu Zalke, Divya Dhurde, Rekha Sakore, Mangla Gawre, Bunty Kukde and others were seated on the dais. Residents of Wathoda, Nandanvan, Vithobanagar, Gadgebaba Nagar, Bhagyashree Nagar, Diamond Nagar, Bapu Nagar, Bhande Plot and other areas are facing water scarcity for several days. Krishna Khopdeand Sudhakar Kohale complained about water scarcity in the area. Municipal Commissioner admitted that the zone is facing the water problem. Later, Bawankule also directed the civic officers to remove encroachment of scrap dealers from Manewada to Wathoda and Hudkeshwar areas. The scrap dealers are illegally doing their business in this area. The civic body should remove their encroachment within eight days, he added. Bawankule further said that civic body should start seizure of the open plots. Presently, the citizens are throwing garbage in these plots creating menace for adjoining houses. He also directed to bring improvement in door-to-door garbage collection drive. Blasting negligent officers for not doing their work honestly, Bawankule has directed administration to stop increments of officers who are not implementing Government scheme in appropriate manner. Nandanvan slums did not develop under Ramai Ambedkar scheme due to negligence of the officers as government has released funds under the scheme, he added. Citizens of Nirmal Nagri also lodged complaint about builder and developer Pramod Manmode. Taking cognizance of their complaints, Bawankule has directed to register criminal offence against him. MLA SudhakarKohale informed that he has allocated funds of Rs 50 lakh for the construction of a road but Manmode did not allow the road. Total 1,500 citizens are deprived of basic amenities. Water supply lines are broken and police are protecting him, citizens alleged. Complaints about traffic police, stray dogs, encroachments, illegal constructions and other grievances were registered at the programme.
