City Police Commissionerate observes ‘Annual Road Safety Day 2019’

Nagpur: Police Commissionerate on Wednesday organized a program to observe its annual Road Safety Day at Shivaji Stadium, Police HQ, Katol Road. In cultural programs Saint Xavier School, Hivari Nagar won first prize followed by Modern School Koradi and Hindustan High School, Lakadganj who bagged second and third prizes respectively. In Girls Category, Modern School, Koradi bagged first prize while Hindusthan Vidyalaya, Lakadganj second and South Point School, Omkar Nagar won third prize. The prizes were given for parade in Boys category- first prize to Rajkumar Kevalramani High School Jaripatka, second to Rajendra Highschool, Mahal and third to Saint Xavier, Hingna. The audience of around 3000 pledged to follow traffic rules on this occasion and also witnessed a unique combination of discipline and entertainment.

The event witnessed an impressive parade by the students of total 45 school’s road squads while 8 schools presented cultural programme and gave a message of unity and awareness on this occasion. Commissioner of Police Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay presided over the function while Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ravindra Kadam, Additional Commissioner of Police B G Gaikar, Deputy Commissioner of Police Nilesh Bharne, Nirmala Devi, Rahul Makhinkar, G S Rajmane, Vivek Masal were special invitee. The prizes were given for parade in Boys category- first prize to Rajkumar Kevalramani High School Jaripatka, second to Rajendra Highschool, Mahal and third to Saint Xavier, Hingna. In Girls Category, Modern School, Koradi bagged first prize while Hindusthan Vidyalaya, Lakadganj second and South Point School, Omkar Nagar won third prize. The parade was led by Nikita Tembhare and Parul Ringe. In cultural programs Saint Xavier School, Hivari Nagar won first prize followed by Modern School Koradi and Hindustan High School, Lakadganj who bagged second and third prizes respectively. The audience of around 3000 pledged to follow traffic rules on this occasion and also witnessed a unique combination of discipline and entertainment.
