NAGPUR: Murder of an unidentified youth in his mid-20s continues to baffle Kamptee police as there is no missing report registered either in city or in rural areas which could give a clue to crack the case.The body was found with several injuries on head and face on a railway track near Ranala village on Sunday.Establishing the identity of the murdered youth, wearing a red-coloured T-shirt and blue jeans, is a challenge for Kamptee police. They said that the body features indicated that the youth could be from the north-eastern region. Police questioned several roadside Chinese food vendors and many others in Kalamna and Kamptee markets. This is the second murder case in Kamptee which is yet to be detected.Police said that the victim could be an outsider living in the city alone to eke out his living. Liquor bottles found in the surrounding area suggested that the youth could have been brought to the desolate place for a feast. He then might have been pinned down by the assailants as his head and face was found smashed with a stone found at the place.The police did not find any belongings of the victim which may have been disposed of by the assailants to destroy evidence.The assailants learnt to have emptied the pockets of the jeans, the victim was wearing, before leaving the place. There was nothing tattooed on the body from where the cops could get some clues regarding the identity of the youth.
