Nagpur: Gopal Shahu, a 45-year-old labour supervisor, was booked by Kalamna police on Wednesday for raping a married woman (26), and also forcing her to abort a child. Shahu is still at large.The woman, who worked as a labourer under Shahu's supervision, claimed that she was being sexually exploited by Shahu since 2014. She claimed that she wanted to tell her husband about the rapes, but couldn't since Shahu, a resident of Pardi, had threatened her with dire consequences. She also said that she had many times opposed him, but he continued his unlawful acts.The woman said, "The very first time, he sent all labourers to the construction site by autorickshaw and took me on his two-wheeler. However, he took me to a desolate place and gagged me while forcing himself upon me."The woman lodged FIR at Dhantoli police station as she was staying at Surya Nagar. Later, the case was transferred to Kalamna police station because the incident happened in that jurisdiction. The woman added that Shahu also used to pursue her and pass obscene comments.Cops have registered a case of molestation, rape and criminal conspiracy against the absconding Shahu.
