Special children unwind at ‘Udaan Khushiyon Bhari’

"Children were in for a surprise when balloons with tagline 'Udaan Khushiyon Bhari' were released in the air as soon as they arrived at the museum. We are also organizing a similar programme on February 14, the Valentine's Day, for such children who are above 13 years of age. They were accompanied by teacher coordinators and volunteers from 50 schools and institutes from across the city. Ashish had come up with this idea and we are doing our best to continue the initiative and give these kids a day to remember for long. They also visited the museum and got a feel of the atmosphere there.The initiative, under which visually impaired, deaf and dumb, physically and mentally challenged children from various schools and institutes participated, was started nine years ago.

Nagpur: It was fun time for specially abled children at Motibagh Railway Museum as they danced, rode on a toy train and played games to unwind themselves at 'Udaan Khushiyon Bhari', a programme organized by Rotary Club of Nagpur and Lata Mangeshkar Hospital on Wednesday.Supported by the district council department of social welfare, the kids below 13 years of age had a gala time with choreographer Roshan entertaining them with games and dancing sessions. They were accompanied by teacher coordinators and volunteers from 50 schools and institutes from across the city. They also visited the museum and got a feel of the atmosphere there.The initiative, under which visually impaired, deaf and dumb, physically and mentally challenged children from various schools and institutes participated, was started nine years ago. The idea was conceived by MLA Ashish Deshmukh with the sole purpose of giving these children some quality time to refresh themselves from mundane life.Dr Ayushree, wife of Ashish Deshmukh, said, "It has always been a joyous experience to be around these kids. Ashish had come up with this idea and we are doing our best to continue the initiative and give these kids a day to remember for long."Speaking on the occasion, Rina Sinha, president of Rotary Club of Nagpur said, "These kids need love, attention, patience and affection more than anything else and hence we organized special games and activities which they enjoyed to the fullest.
