“I got the reservation for the bus from the booking centre right behind the control cabin at New CBS, without any change in the boarding point. Why this harassment?” asked Uttam Bidve (61) a resident of CIDCO.On February 14, Bidve, a heart patient, and his wife aged 56 had to rush to the Mahamarg bus stand, all the time thinking what if he missed.Same is the fate of those who book tickets manually. Those sitting at enquiry counters cannot be rude to commuters. When I went there to catch the bus on February 4, I was rudely told to go to Mahamarg,” said Siddhesh Patel, another passenger.“The enquiry officials treated the commuters badly that day. Nashik: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) had announced in October last year that the buses heading to Gujarat will leave from the Mahamarg bus stand instead of the New CBS stand, but the MSRTC’s reservation system – online and manual – still fails to reflect the change. While booking a ticket for Baroda online, the point of boarding is shown as Thakkar Bazaar or New CBS.

There is no mention of change of the stand.“After waiting at the New CBS for the bus, which fails to turn up at the given time, commuters go to the enquiry counter only to find out that they have to rush to the Mahamarg bus stand, at the eleventh hour. “I got the reservation for the bus from the booking centre right behind the control cabin at New CBS, without any change in the boarding point. Those sitting at enquiry counters cannot be rude to commuters. We would have missed the bus had we not enquired in time,” Patel added. The TOI had pointed out the plight of travellers in its November 11 issue (‘Citizens confused as MSRTC shifts bus stop’) in which commuters had demanded change in the boarding point in reserved tickets.Patel has decided to dump the MSRTC because of the issue. “I can travel in a private A/C or non A/C sleeper coach by paying Rs 600 to 915 and reach the destination at 6am, much better than paying Rs 572 for a Hirkani (semi-luxury) bus with such harassment and reach destination at 8am,” said Patel. The MSRTC officials said that a notice board was put up at the New CBS and that they would now make the required changes as well.
