City police announce traffic diversion for Ganeshotsav

Nashik: The city police have announced traffic diversion from Tuesday till the day of Ganpati immersion on account of the huge rush of devotees thronging Ganapati mandals.Vehicular movement between Sarda Circle and Sangli Bank will remain suspended daily from 6 pm to midnight.Meanwhile, since many people immerse their Ganesh idols on the fifth day of the Ganesh festival, the city traffic police had diverted the route of city buses leaving from Nimani bus stand.City buses from Nashik Road moving towards Nimani bus stand will move towards Gadkari Chowk after reaching Sarda Circle and then proceed to Nimani bus stand via Modak Siganl, CBS, Signal, Meher Signal, Ashok Stambh, Raviwar Karanja.Similarly, buses from Nimani towards Nashik Road will also use the stretch of Sangli Bank – CBS, Modak Signal - Gadkari Chowk Signal - Sarda Circle to move Nashik Road.Police has decided to make road from Ashok Stambh to Raviwar Karanja as no parking zone from 6 pm to midnight, daily from Tuesday till the day of immersion.The police said that the state transport buses from Nimani bus stand were diverted from Panchavati Karanja towards Katya Maruti Chowk, Santosh T Point, Kannamwar Bridge, Dwarka circle, to move towards Nashik Road, Ambad, Satpur and other parts of the city.Besides buses, other heavy vehicles were barred from moving towards Panchavati from the Central Bus Stand as the stretch between Ashok Stambh to Raviwar Karanja was completely closed for traffic movement.The city buses were diverted from Ashok Stambh towards Ramwadi Bridge, Makhmalabad Naka, Peth Naka Signal to move towards Nimani Stand and Panchavati.Police said that the same rule will be applicable on September 19 as Ganesh idols are also immersed on the ninth day of the festival and also on Saturday, September 22 in view of the rush of devotees to watch the Ganapati decorations.The ban will not be applicable for police vehicles, ambulances and vehicles of the fire brigade department.
