Nashik: Squarely blaming the BJP government for keeping the Ayodhya Ram temple issue hanging for years, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said on Saturday that his party, under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray, will undertake a mass movement to rebuild the temple.“The ‘Chalo Ayodhya’ campaign would begin from Nashik, given that Ayodhya and Nashik share a special religious bond,” Raut said at a press conference here, though he did not specify a date for the launch of the campaign. “The court has no role to play in religious matters,” he said while refuting BJP’s argument that temple construction has got delayed due to court case.“Babri Masjid was not demolished due to a court order, it was the action initiated by people,” Raut had said earlier in an interview to a Marathi news channel.On the same lines, during the press conference here, he said “The responsibility of constructing Ram Mandir lies with the BJP and that the court has no role to play.”“Earlier, the BJP used to say that it was unable to constrict the temple as it did not have majority at the Centre. Now, it has absolute majority, yet it has failed to act on the issue,” he said, adding, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has travelled far and wide across the world, but has steered clear of visiting Ayodhya.”“If PM wants, temple can be be constructed in 2019. The Sena will support him if an ordinance for temple construction is issued. The BJP is in power in the state as well as at the Centre and they can easily pass such ordinance,” said the Sena MP.
