Nashik: A youth was stabbed to death for allegedly shouting at three friends for bringing petrol late as he remained stranded on a road as his bike ran out of fuel.The infuriated friends stabbed Anil Bagle (23), a resident of Shivajinagar in Satpur, in his stomach with a button knife.Bagle and his cousin were coming from Sant Kabir Nagar on a bike towards their residence in the Shivajinagar area when their bike ran out of fuel near CEAT company in Satpur MIDC around 8.30pm on Sunday.Subsequently, Bagle called up his friends and asked them to arrange petrol for his bike as they were stranded in the MIDC area.The cousins waited for the three friends, who reached the spot with a bottle of petrol around 10.15pm. The delay on their part left Amol Bagle fuming, and he started scolding the three friends. A Satpur police officer said Bagle became abusive, which led to a fight between him and the three friends.The police officer added during the fight, two of the suspects caught hold of Bagle and the third brought out a button knife and stabbed him thrice in his stomach.Senior inspector (Satpur police) Rajendra Kute said, “When the three suspects found Bagle bleeding profusely, they took him to the Nashik Civil Hospital for treatment. By the time Bagle’s relatives rushed to the civil hospital, the three suspects had fled the spot.”“Bagle succumbed to the wounds on Monday around 10am. We have arrested Lokesh Thorat on Sunday night. Sunil Kharat and Kiran Binnar were arrested on Monday,” he said.Amol Bagle’s cousin, Sachin Bagle, has lodged a complaint with the Satpur police against the three suspects.Kute said that three were from the same area. According to the statements of the three suspects, Amol used to often abuse Lokesh for some reason or other. On Sunday, the suspects had given a slip to Bagle to go for an engagement ceremony at Narayangaon in Pune, fearing that he would create a scene if he got drunk at the event.This had also left Bagle fuming over his friends, the police inspector said, adding that the deceased was a driver by profession. The police would produce the three arrested youths before a city court on Tuesday.The densely-populated and highway-abutting areas of Ambad, Panchavati and Nashik Road police stations have again reported most crimes in the city, repeating the trend of past couple of years.Between January and September this year, Ambad has reported maximum (353) criminal cases in the city, followed by 308 cases at the Panchavati police station and 263 in the Nashik Road area. Apart from being densely populated, Ambad has a large number of working class people. Many of them work as labourers in the adjoining Satpur and Ambad industrial areas.
