Max temperature declines in city by 6C in 24 hours

Nashik: Maximum temperature of Nashik saw a massive drop on Thursday and settled at 24.2 degrees celsius, which is a decline of 6 degrees in just 24 hours. “Starting February 9, most parts of Maharashtra will see an inflow of northerly winds which will result in fall in temperature. Even in the afternoon, the wind was blowing at a high speed and it the cool breeze continued till late evening. The India Meteorological Department has forecast that the condition will change in two days.“The weather condition in north Maharashtra, especially Nashik, will remain pleasant as temperatures will come down a bit on Friday and Saturday. From Sunday onwards, the maximum temperature will once again start soaring and warmth will come back in the air,” said R B Mankar, senior official from the weather observatory.Private weather forecaster Skymet has forecast that the dominance of south-easterly humid winds will stop for a few days.

The fall in temperature was attributed to moderate to strong flow of north-westerly winds, which are relatively cooler.Also, the wind speed, which was around 3km per hour on Wednesday, was recorded 13km per hour on Thursday, because of thunderstorms in Delhi area and wind coming from the northern parts of the country.Due to these changes in weather, Nashikites experienced unusually cool and windy morning on Thursday. Even in the afternoon, the wind was blowing at a high speed and it the cool breeze continued till late evening. The India Meteorological Department has forecast that the condition will change in two days.“The weather condition in north Maharashtra, especially Nashik, will remain pleasant as temperatures will come down a bit on Friday and Saturday. Also, above normal minimums will come back to the normal levels, along with which the wind chill factor may also be felt in some parts,” says Skymet report.“Now, a confluence zone has formed from east Madhya Pradesh across Vidarbha and Marathwada up to Karnataka, wherein south-easterly winds from thr Bay of Bengal and inland north-westerly winds are merging over Vidarbha and parts of Marathwada,” the report adds.
