Birhad Morcha disrupts traffic, storms exam centre

However, given the huge rush of vehicles during the morning hours, a large number of motorists were stuck in the traffic on all the roads connecting the junction that were blocked. The traffic police said that vehicles had to be diverted on the service road along the Mumbai-Agra highway and motorists were also asked to use the flyover instead of using the Dwarka junction.Further, vehicular traffic was also blocked for some time at Mumbai Naka junction as well as the junction on Canal Road near the examination centre.A large number of motorists towards Dwarka junction move towards the Mumbai Naka from Pournima Signal. Many said that by the time they reached the Mumbai Naka junction, the vehicular traffic was also blocked there for some time.On the other hand, motorists on the Canal Road from the Nashik Road side, Indiranagar side as well as those plying between Wadala and Pathardi Phata were also stuck in the traffic after the agitators blocked the junction near the examination centre.Police officials said that huge deployment was made along the route of the procession of Birhad Morcha for necessary traffic diversion. However, given the huge rush of vehicles during the morning hours, a large number of motorists were stuck in the traffic on all the roads connecting the junction that were blocked.
