Vehicle rally for women on April 7

Nashik: Ayam Foundation and Wisa are jointly organizing a car and bike rally exclusively for women. There will be a one-minute gap between each vehicle and the vehicles will have to reach the time checking points exactly one minute after the vehicle ahead. Mobile phones and laptops are not allowed.There will be teams of three people as volunteers or marshals to record the time that a vehicle reached the checkpoint. If a vehicle reaches early or late, it will be given penalty points.

Nashik: Ayam Foundation and Wisa are jointly organizing a car and bike rally exclusively for women. The rally will need essential vehicle documents that the organizers have appealed to keep ready.The four-wheeler 100km rally and the two-wheeler 50km rally will be amid scenic localities. Participants will have to focus on the time-speed-distance (TSD) and will have to have coordination between the three.Talking about the rally, Ashwin Pandit of Wisa said during a media briefing, “There has to be coordination between time, speed and distance. We have done such events earlier. This time we expect a good crowd.”The event will be flagged off from the Fravashi Academy at 7.30am on April 7. The undisclosed route that is said to pass through scenic localities, greenery and lakes.“A driver and a navigator are mandatory. The navigator and the driver will have to coordinate during the entire route. There will be a one-minute gap between each vehicle and the vehicles will have to reach the time checking points exactly one minute after the vehicle ahead. If a vehicle reaches early or late, it will be given penalty points. This is not a race. The average speed should be 20-25km per hour,” said Aniruddha Kulkarni, one of the organizers.The organizers said that all traffic rules have to be followed. Helmets for both the rider and passenger in case of two-wheelers and seat belts in case of four-wheelers are compulsory. Mobile phones and laptops are not allowed.There will be teams of three people as volunteers or marshals to record the time that a vehicle reached the checkpoint. Medical teams will also be posted at certain locations.Prizes will be given for special categories — like mother-daughter, daughter-in-law and mother-in-law, sisters and sister-in-laws among others.
