Two youths killed after car rams bridge railing

Constable R S Nirgude of the Sinnar police said that Gawali, who was driving the car felt sleepy and lost control over the vehicle. Nirgude added that the victims often frequented Nashik to buy pigeons and were on a similar trip this time as well. Vikas was fond of peigons and regularly came to Nashik to buy them. Victims left for Nashik from Akurdi around 11pm, said an official of the Sinnar police.Soon after Sinnar police got reports about the accident, they rushed the victims to various hospitals for further treatment. Those undergoing treatment in private hospitals of Nashik are identified as Vishnu Shigvan (19), Suraj Gupta (22), Vikas Dise (23) and Avinash Pandharkar (19).The incident took place around 4.30pm on the bridge over Shiv rivulet on the newly constructed bypass.

Two youngsters died and four others were seriously wounded in an accident on the newly constructed Sinnar bypass of the Nashik Pune highway (NH-50) on Wednesday.The victims are all residents of Akurdi from Pimpri-Chinchwad city in Pune.Incidentally, the accident occurred exactly a month after the bypass was opened to vehicles.The deceased have been identified as Rohit Gangawane (24) and Datta Gawali (25). Those undergoing treatment in private hospitals of Nashik are identified as Vishnu Shigvan (19), Suraj Gupta (22), Vikas Dise (23) and Avinash Pandharkar (19).The incident took place around 4.30pm on the bridge over Shiv rivulet on the newly constructed bypass. The vehicle rammed the bridge railing near Sharadwadi of Sinnar.While Gawali died during treatment at Srinvas hospital in Panchavati, Gangawane succumbed to injuries at the Dodi rural hospital.The police said that the rest of the injured victims were under treatment at different private hospitals. Nirgude added that the victims often frequented Nashik to buy pigeons and were on a similar trip this time as well. Vikas was fond of peigons and regularly came to Nashik to buy them. His friends also accompanied him when he came to Nashik.On June 19, the 9.5-km bypass road from Ghulewadi in Sinnar till the MIDC of the town was thrown open, so that motorists do not have to negotiate the heavy traffic of the Sinnar town during peak hours.
