Noida eyes Rs 30,000 crore biz via MoUs with firms

NOIDA: The three development authorities of Gautam Budh Nagar—Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway— expect to rein in investments worth more than Rs 30,000 crore from the Uttar Pradesh Investors’ Summit 2018 being held in Lucknow. “We want Noida to be a gateway for industrial development and not for real estate,” said Alok Tandon , chairman and CEO (CCEO), Noida Authority. “We have focused on providing entrepreneurs with a conducive environment for setting up industry and to propel industrial growth,” he said. Majority part of the land is located along the Noida-Greater Noida expressway, but some of it is also lies in the old industrial sectors of the city. Around 300 acres of land has been earmarked for the entrepreneurs to set up their stores.

The two-day summit started on Wednesday.A week ahead of the event, the three authorities had already inked memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with more than 200 companies desiring to invest more than Rs 30,000 crores in the three areas. The UP government had set a target of Rs 35,000 crores for the three industrial development authorities to achieve.According to Noida Authority officials, of 132 investors in Noida, prospective investors including Paytm, TCS, Dharampal Satyapal, Haldiram Snacks, Kent RO systems, Uflex, and others have already promised to invest in the area.
