Seven Noida roads to be made dust-free

NOIDA: Nearly a year after UP Principal Secretary Industries Alok Sinha had asked the horticulture department of Noida to draw up a plan for ‘dust-free’ city, Noida Authority has finally swung into action. “In the first phase we have decided to take up roads in sector 82(4.5 kms), sector 90 and 138 (2.29 kms), sector 93B (4kms), sector 137 (5kms), Hosiery complex (28 kms) and phase-II (12 kms),” Mishra said. We will also ensuring strict action against anyone creating dust pollution," he added. “These stretches witnesses maximum dust and air pollution in the city,” he explained.“The roads will be planted on both sides with grass and plants to ensure dust free zones,” said Ombeer Singh Director Horticulture , Noida Authority. In order to make the city ‘dust-free’ the horticulture department has identified the 7 main roads and will convert them into model ‘green’ streets.

NOIDA: Nearly a year after UP Principal Secretary Industries Alok Sinha had asked the horticulture department of Noida to draw up a plan for ‘dust-free’ city, Noida Authority has finally swung into action. Sixty kilometres across 7 arterial roads in the city will be undertaken in the first phase of the plan at a cost of Rs 2.30 crores. Tenders for selecting the agency to carry out the plan will be initiated in March, Noida Authority officials said.The decision follows submission of a report by a 9-member committee, which had been formed in January this year to chalk out a detailed plan to improve basic civic amenities for the citizens of Noida and to ensure dust free environs in a time-bound manner. The committee was headed by Additional CEO (ACEO) R.K Mishra.According to officials, the aim is to make Noida a better place to live in. In order to make the city ‘dust-free’ the horticulture department has identified the 7 main roads and will convert them into model ‘green’ streets. “In the first phase we have decided to take up roads in sector 82(4.5 kms), sector 90 and 138 (2.29 kms), sector 93B (4kms), sector 137 (5kms), Hosiery complex (28 kms) and phase-II (12 kms),” Mishra said. “These stretches witnesses maximum dust and air pollution in the city,” he explained.“The roads will be planted on both sides with grass and plants to ensure dust free zones,” said Ombeer Singh Director Horticulture , Noida Authority. “The greenery will be maintained for period of two years by the selected company after tendering and will remain under vigilance of the respective work circle in charges,” he explained. “Grass, seasonal flowers, trees, shrubs and fragrant plants will be planted. We will also ensuring strict action against anyone creating dust pollution," he added.
