Noida: A salesman charged with voyeurism after a woman spotted a cellphone in the washroom of a Sector 18 electronics outlet was arrested near the market area’s metro station on Thursday.Sachin Tomor (22), an original resident of Ghaziabad told police he had left his phone in the washroom to catch people who did not clean up after using it.Manish Saxena, SHO of Sector 20 police station, said Ghaziabad resident Tomor had been working at the Vijay Sales store for only a few months. “There is a common washroom which was mainly used by employees and sometimes by customers. But he said he had left the mobile phone there to catch whoever was doing it and prove his innocence.”Saxena said Tomor had left the phone there around two minutes before the woman, a customer, entered the washroom. “The phone was on when the woman entered the washroom and noticed it. The accused unlocked the phone in our presence. We scanned the phone and found a recording of the woman entering the washroom and picking up the phone. There was no other objectionable video in the phone,” the SHO said.The woman and her husband, residents of Sector 120, had gone to the store on Wednesday. She found the phone fixed near the exhaust, came out of the washroom and alerted her husband. The police said that a case under Section 354 C (voyeurism) has been registered against the accused. “He will be produced in court and sent to judicial custody on Friday,” said police.
