Greater Noida: A 33-year old widow was allegedly beaten up with sticks and iron rods by her in-laws apparently over a property dispute. The accused allegedly snatched her mobile phone, a gold chain and Rs 20,000 she had saved for her three-year-old daughter’s admission to a school.Geeta Rani, a teacher in HS Disha Public School in Dankaur, alleged that her in-laws wanted to take her husband’s share of property that includes a 500sqm plot along the road and a 200sqm plot on which their house stood.An FIR was lodged against seven of Geeta’s in-laws, all of whom are absconding.The woman said around 1.20am on Tuesday, her brother-in-law Brahmpal Singh, mother-in-law Shakuntala, sisters-in-law Neetu and Pinky, Neetu’s husband Jaikishan, uncle Mahavir and his daughter Sheetal entered her room with iron rods, sticks and bricks.She said the accused asked her to take back the court case she had filed against them for harassment and when she refused, Jaikishan hit her with a rod on the head and Brahmpal attacked her with sticks. “Neetu hit me with pliers while others hit me with bricks,” she said.
