District administration calls for ground water preservation

GREATER NOIDA: At a time when monsoon has set in the city, a conference on the importance of persevering ground water by district administration came timely on Saturday. The conference is part of the state government's initiative of celebrating ground water week. Also he called for installing rainwater harvesting systems should be installed in more places so that more water can be preserved. For this, all measures will be taken together to ensure that our future generations get pure water according to standard norms,” said ADM Kumar who presided over the conference.Kumar told that while a 50 member ground water army was created, he urged that it be connected with common people through a WhatsApp group so that ground water can be safeguarded at an accelerated pace. At the conference Keshav Kumar additional district magistrate (ADM) Finance and Revenue district Gautam Buddha Nagar announced the forming of 50 member ground water army connected through a whatsapp group which will look into means and measures of preserving ground water in the district starting from preserving the local ponds and water bodies, generating awareness programmes in schools, education institutions and installing rain water harvesting systems in the district.Ground water has a very important role in the life of the human being, so all sections of society will have to come forward to save ground water.

At the conference Keshav Kumar additional district magistrate (ADM) Finance and Revenue district Gautam Buddha Nagar announced the forming of 50 member ground water army connected through a whatsapp group which will look into means and measures of preserving ground water in the district starting from preserving the local ponds and water bodies, generating awareness programmes in schools, education institutions and installing rain water harvesting systems in the district.Ground water has a very important role in the life of the human being, so all sections of society will have to come forward to save ground water. For this, all measures will be taken together to ensure that our future generations get pure water according to standard norms,” said ADM Kumar who presided over the conference.Kumar told that while a 50 member ground water army was created, he urged that it be connected with common people through a WhatsApp group so that ground water can be safeguarded at an accelerated pace. “The 50 member army should be utilised to organise awareness programs through school children – conferences, ceremonies in schools, colleges and universities so that more and more people can come forward to save ground water,” said Kumar.Directing officials related to rural development Kumar maintained that ponds have a very important role in protecting the ground water. “Therefore all officers should try to carry out regular action of beautification of the ponds and their periodic cleaning while taking immediate action against encroachment on ponds wherever found through deputy collector of the region/area,” said Kumar.In addition to this, Kumar added that farmers should be told the importance of farming within their fields through officials of the agriculture department who should explain how efforts can be made to ensure that the rainwater does not get out of their fields so that ground water level is increased.Similarly, to stop drawing of ground water, he called upon concerned officers to take action against such acts. Also he called for installing rainwater harvesting systems should be installed in more places so that more water can be preserved. Presiding over the Geo-Water Summit, Additional District Magistrate, Finance and Revenue, Keshav Kumar, were also rewarded for the top school children in the essay competition on land conservation.Others present at the conference which was held at Surajpur collectorate included Anjani Kumar Singh deputy district collector Dadri, Avadhesh Singh Yadav project director DRDA, Virendra Singh DPRO, regional pollution officer, all block development officers and more.
