NOIDA: The transport department and traffic police held a meeting with vehicle dealers on Tuesday and asked them to ensure that they transfer in their names details of all vehicles that they had purchased from buyers during exchange offers.The meeting was held against the backdrop of at least 100 challans pending against old owners of vehicles that had been bought by other buyers. Around 20 dealers attended it.SP (traffic) Anil Jha said negligence on the dealers’ part had been causing trouble to buyers. “One dealer in Sector 63 had purchased a car during an exchange offer in 2014 but its title ownership has still not been transferred. Without the knowledge of the seller, a CNG kit was installed in the vehicle by the second buyer and it had challans issued against it for at least six times. For two of the six challans, the court issued a warrant against the seller. The previous owner had to suffer because of negligence of the dealer,” he said.
