Car plunges 25 ft from e-way, 3 students escape with bruises

Saurabh (22), Sachin (21) and Abhishek (21) are first-year students of a private medical college in Agra. Farmood Ali Pundhir, the station house officer of Dankaur, said none had lodged a complaint at his police station. Saurabh’s family lives in Dadri while Sachin is from Badalpur area of Greater Noida and Abhishek is a resident of Baghpat district.Saurabh’s uncle Ajit, a Dadri resident, said the three students had left their college hostel in Agra around 9pm to drive home in the Verna. Fortunately, the boys did not suffer serious injuries and were rushed to hospital in time by highway police,” Ajit said.Dankaur police, however, said they did not have any information about the accident . No police complaint was lodged.

Greater Noida: Three medical students driving home from Agra were injured after their Hyundai Verna swerved off the Yamuna Expressway following a tyre burst and nosedived 25ft below in Dankaur area on Wednesday night.The three were rushed to Kailash Hospital by a patrolling team, and were released after preliminary treatment. Saurabh had promised to drop his two friends at a location in Greater Noida, from where they were supposed to go to their respective homes.When they reached Dankaur around 11.30pm, one of the front tyres of the car burst and Saurabh lost control of the vehicle.The car swerved off the expressway and fell 25ft below on a vacant plot.Sources said the portion of the expressway where the car lost control did not have a barricade.“After the tyre burst, Saurabh lost control of the car and it sped off the highway. Fortunately, the boys did not suffer serious injuries and were rushed to hospital in time by highway police,” Ajit said.Dankaur police, however, said they did not have any information about the accident . Farmood Ali Pundhir, the station house officer of Dankaur, said none had lodged a complaint at his police station.
