Police van moving on wrong side of expressway hit by truck, two cops hurt

Police, however, denied that the van was being driven on the wrong side, saying it was standing on one side of the road when the speeding truck hit it. Sunil Kumar Singh, the station house officer of Ecotech 1 police station, denied that the patrol van was being driven on the wrong side. Before he could find one, a six-wheeled truck coming from Agra rammed into it.Both Anil and the other constable, Vijender Dhamma (50), were rushed to Yatharth Hospital. He said the vehicle was standing on a side of the road when the truck rammed against it.Anil Singh, the constable driving the van, echoed the SHO. The driver of the truck escaped, but the vehicle was seized.Sources said around 3.45am, constable Anil Singh (35) was driving the police van on the wrong side of the highway leading to Greater Noida in search of an exit.

GREATER NOIDA: Two constables were injured when a police van , allegedly being driven on the wrong carriageway of the Yamuna Expressway , was hit by a truck near the Gharbhara village underpass early on Monday morning.While one of the constables was released from hospital after first-aid, another had to be admitted with a fractured leg. I ran fast but my colleague could not make it early,” Anil said.
