The company management had lodged a complaint against them alleging that the operators had refilled the machines, generated slips and again unlocked the machines to steal the money. The accused were identified as Shankar Jha, a resident of Kalka in Delhi and Rajan Bharadwaj, a resident of Faridabad in Haryana. Their accomplice, Anil Singh, is absconding.Arun Kumar Singh, SP (city) Noida, said the three persons worked for a private company, Logicash Solutions, in Sector 11. They worked as ‘custodians’ or refilling operator for ATMs of public sector and private banks which were in panel with the company. “These operators used to unlock the machines using the password to refill the cash. However, they got tempted with the huge amount and decided to steal the money after depositing them in the machine,” Singh said. “In the past two months, they had stolen Rs 1.16 crore,” Singh added.The operators later distributed the money among themselves.Pankaj Pant, SHO, Sector 24 police station, said: “The accused persons had been absconding since a case was registered. We received information about their movement near Videocon crossing in Sector 11. We have also seized Rs 19.75 lakh from them,” Pant said.Bharadwaj said he had taken the money from ATMs since the machines were malfunctioning. The two accused were produced in court and sent to judicial custody.
