Singh, who has areas like Jewar, Dankaur, Greater Noida, Ecotech I, Surajpur, Kasna and Knowledge Park under his jurisdiction, was admitted to Kailash hospital in Greater Noida and discharged later.“I was travelling towards Pari Chowk from Noida when the accident happened. I had reached near Ansal Plaza when a dog came in my way and my bike skidded off the road. I fell off the bike,” he said.The accident triggered a protest among six traffic inspectors, who demanded that they be given four-wheelers to cover the areas that are under their jurisdiction. Sources said the six traffic inspectors in the district had been disgruntled with the administration for not providing them four-wheelers. They had argued they had to travel to far-off places such as Jewar, Dadri and Rabupura as part of their job.Sources said while two of the traffic inspectors were currently using their own four-wheelers for going on checking drives, the others had been using bikes.The traffic inspectors get fuel allowance only when they drive official vehicles. “We don’t get fuel allowance if we use our own vehicle,” a traffic police officer said.TOI had earlier reported that five more inspectors had been appointed in Gautam Budh Nagar for “better management” of traffic. At present, there are six inspectors in the district.
