Private company fined Rs 1 lakh for dumping waste on road

NOIDA: The Noida Authority has fined a private company Rs 1 lakh after garbage was found lying uncovered outside its office in Sector 62A. The Authority removed the dumped waste and imposed a fine of Rs 1 lakh on the company. “A penalty of Rs 1 lakh was levied and received from Sandeep Paper Mills and Rs 50,000 was received from a private company in Sector 16 A for dumping unauthorised waste on the roads,” he said.Earlier, Noida Authority CEO Alok Tandon had directed that no waste be dumped along the road between 10am and 5pm. On Saturday, our project engineer Vijay Rawal inspected the area and found the complaints true. “We received complaints from Sector 62 that Assotech had dumped a huge quantity of waste outside their building and left it on the road without covering it with a green sheet (as prescribed by the National Green Tribunal).

A team from the public health department also took away 17 stray cattle roaming the streets.The fine on Assotech came almost a week after the Authority decided to increase penalty on those found dumping garbage along the road. “We received complaints from Sector 62 that Assotech had dumped a huge quantity of waste outside their building and left it on the road without covering it with a green sheet (as prescribed by the National Green Tribunal). The dues have to be recovery,” said S K Gupta, deputy general manager of the public health department.Gupta added that similar fines had been levied last month on two other companies. “A penalty of Rs 1 lakh was levied and received from Sandeep Paper Mills and Rs 50,000 was received from a private company in Sector 16 A for dumping unauthorised waste on the roads,” he said.Earlier, Noida Authority CEO Alok Tandon had directed that no waste be dumped along the road between 10am and 5pm.
