Afghan under-19 team to play in Noida

NOIDA: Afghanistan’s under-19 cricket team will play a tournament at the Noida Stadium from September 20-26.Rajeev Tyagi, general manager, Noida Authority, said the players would practise and play the matches. The Afghanistan team had shifted base to Greater Noida from Sharjah, their earlier home ground. The Noida Stadium has a capacity of 25,000 viewers. Entry is free,” he said.In December 2015, the Greater Noida cricket stadium was made the home ground for Afghanistan cricketers after the Greater Noida Authority, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) signed an MoU in Delhi’s Constitution Club. It has five main match pitches, dressing rooms, VIP box, administrative room and medical room.
