Soon, cops will have details of violators on Noida-Greater Noida expressway

NOIDA: After the successful integration of the e-challan system on the Yamuna Expressway with National Informatics Centre’s (NIC) Vahan software, the authorities are in the process of linking the Highway Traffic Management System (HTMS) on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway with Vahan too.The integration will allow the traffic police to get personal details of a violator and his history, officials said. In UP, Gautam Budh Nagar is left and it is the districts where the maximum number of challans are being issued,” said an official of NIC.SP (traffic) Anil Jha said, “Noida traffic cell (NTC) under the Noida Authority has been roped in for the plan and its vendor is helping to collate the data with NIC’s database.” As of now, the facility is available only at Yamuna Expressway and the traffic cops are getting the data of the violators within minutes through the NIC’s database.According to officials, the traffic police and NIC have now initiated the process of integration of database with the other systems at the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and intersections, including sectors 57 and 31/25 which are manned by CCTV cameras.“The integration process is almost complete in 12-13 districts of Haryana.
