120 more sub-inspectors for Ghaziabad, 21 of them for Indirapuram

SSP Vaibhav Krishna said the sub-inspectors, who would join the force soon, had been given training recently.According to sources, 21 sub-inspectors will join Indirapuram police station and 20 will join Sahibabad police station. Ghaziabad: As many as 120 more sub-inspectors will join the police force in the district, taking their total strength to 270. Hopefully, the situation will improve after more sub-inspectors join the force,” the SSP said.The SSP has also decided to depute 15 sub-inspectors and 3 inspectors to traffic wing. Currently, there are 20 sub-inspectors and three 3 in the traffic wing, even though there are 210 traffic cops.There are 3,500 personnel, including 2,800 constables, in Ghaziabad . With the new sub-inspectors in place, their total strength will reach 31 and 33 in Indirapuram and Sahibabad, respectively.A large number of chain and mobile snatching cases have been reported from Indirapuram, Sahibabad and Kavi Nagar in the recent past.Sources said that 86 cases of chain snatching in Indirapuram, 15 in Kavi Nagar and 12 in Sahibabad were yet to be solved.

Similarly, 76 cases of mobile phone snatching in Kavi Nagar, 155 in Indirapuram and 92 in Sahibabad are yet to be resolved.“Cops have been directed to intensify vigil in crowded places such as schools, colleges and shopping malls. Other than setting up police pickets, SHOs have been instructed to depute cops in plainclothes to identify trouble-makers and snatchers. Hopefully, the situation will improve after more sub-inspectors join the force,” the SSP said.The SSP has also decided to depute 15 sub-inspectors and 3 inspectors to traffic wing. Currently, there are 20 sub-inspectors and three 3 in the traffic wing, even though there are 210 traffic cops.There are 3,500 personnel, including 2,800 constables, in Ghaziabad . However, the requirement is over 5,000. The department has written to its headquarters from time to time to increase number of personnel.
