Missing delivery boy found dead in room, cops suspect murder

Ghaziabad: A 25-year-old delivery boy , working with a private company, was found dead inside his friend’s locked room in Mahendra Enclave area of Ghaziabad on Wednesday. Police were not able to find Ajay anywhere in the area.Police suspect that the youth was murdered and have sent the body for autopsy. No case has been registered in the matter so far.“The exact cause of death is not known yet. Ajay’s room is located less than 50 metres away from Shivam’s house. A case will be registered as soon as the deceased’s family members submit a formal complaint,” said Pradeep Tripathi, SHO of Kavi Nagar police station.

Ghaziabad: A 25-year-old delivery boy , working with a private company, was found dead inside his friend’s locked room in Mahendra Enclave area of Ghaziabad on Wednesday. The youth, identified as Shivam, had been missing for past three days.Locals told police that Shivam was last seen on September 30 on the streets of Mahendra Enclave where he too lived with his parents.Shivam’s decomposed body was recovered from the single-room rented accommodation of his friend Ajay when the neighbours complained of a stench. Ajay’s room is located less than 50 metres away from Shivam’s house. Police were not able to find Ajay anywhere in the area.Police suspect that the youth was murdered and have sent the body for autopsy. “There were injury marks on the head of of the youth. The body was lying on the floor with a broken cot nearby. It also appeared that the throat of the man had been slit using a knife. A heavy stone with blood stains upon it was also found near the body,” said a police official.Police said, Shivam had married Pooja (23), who lived in his neighbourhood, around six months ago against the wishes of his family. Pooja is absconding. Sources said Pooja had filed for a divorce around three months ago, which is pending in the court, alleging ill treatment and bestial behaviour.Pooja had been living with her parents in their house for past three months complaining that Shivam was alcoholic.Shivam’s family members told police that they did not file a missing person’s complaint because he usually left home only for short periods of time. No case has been registered in the matter so far.“The exact cause of death is not known yet.
