In her complaint to police, she said her husband’s family was not happy with the marriage and used to harass her over dowry from the very beginning.“A few months ago, my husband demanded Rs 2.5 lakh to buy an auto-rickshaw and told me to ask my family for the money. He forced me to call up my father, whoin turn asked my brothers to visit me and resolve the matter. But my husband and his family argued with them and told them to take me back and not return without the money,” Salma added. She then went back to her parents’ house.On September 13, her husband gave her triple talaq on the phone. She filed a police complaint on Wednesday.Ajay Pal Sharma, SSP, Gautam Buddh Nagar said an FIR was filed against Nadeem, his mother Sameena, sisters Rubeena and Madeena and brother Kadeem under sections 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC and relevant sections of the Dowry Act at Rabupura police station on Wednesday.“More sections will be added after the preliminary investigation and after consulting a legal advisor on the case.,” the SSP said.
