Noida: Commuters and traffic police have asked the Noida Authority to extend foot over-bridges over the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to service lanes and sector roads. Vehicles are often seen hurtling down the service roads. They are not even covering the service lane , leave alone the roads inside the sectors abutting the FOBs,” an officer said. “We have been regularly demanding that FOBs be constructed to avoid pedestrian deaths on the expressway. As of now, three of the FOBs end at the road-side, which render them useless.

Noida: Commuters and traffic police have asked the Noida Authority to extend foot over-bridges over the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway to service lanes and sector roads. The demand comes at a time the Authority is in the process of issuing tenders for five new footbridges Of the four FOBs on the expressway, only the one between Sectors 125 and 44 is linked with the service road on both sides. The commuters point out that apart from the FOB near Amity University, all the others constructed between sectors 126 and 97, near Sector 142 metro station and near Sector 144 metro station end at the edges of the expressway. The commuters said that since the FOBs do not extend up to the service roads, they are hardly used. The traffic cops also said these FOBs could be utilised in case they are extended to the inner sector roads, which cover the service lanes too. Vehicles are often seen hurtling down the service roads. “We have been regularly demanding that FOBs be constructed to avoid pedestrian deaths on the expressway.
