Salesman, 3 others held for killing broker over Rs 6,000

Ghaziabad: A 22-year-old salesman with an apparel outlet in Delhi was arrested with three accomplices on Sunday for allegedly killing a property dealer during a quarrel over Rs 6,000. Vicky’s father had returned three installments of Rs 6,000 each but had not been returning the final installments. His family members had suspected one Sonu, with whom he had had a quarrel in the past, of murder. On the evening of December 13, Sharma had abused Vicky because of his father’s inability to return the money in full. On a complaint by Sharma’s family, Sonu was booked in a murder case.

Ghaziabad: A 22-year-old salesman with an apparel outlet in Delhi was arrested with three accomplices on Sunday for allegedly killing a property dealer during a quarrel over Rs 6,000. Vikas Rawat alias Vicky and his three friends, all in their mid-20s, had slit the throat of broker Bagesh Sharma (36), who was also a money lender, and dumped his body in a drain near Nandgram in Ghaziabad.Sharma’s body was found by morning-walkers on December 14. His family members had suspected one Sonu, with whom he had had a quarrel in the past, of murder. On a complaint by Sharma’s family, Sonu was booked in a murder case. But during investigations, police did not find his involvement in the crime.CCTV footage examined by police revealed the involvement of Vicky and his close friend, Rahul, in the murder. Police said the duo were college dropouts and had become friends because of their common passion for music.“Sharma had lent Rs 20,000 to Vicky’s father two years ago and was supposed to get back the money along with an interest of Rs 4,000. Vicky’s father had returned three installments of Rs 6,000 each but had not been returning the final installments. On the evening of December 13, Sharma had abused Vicky because of his father’s inability to return the money in full. Vicky plotted to kill Sharma and involved his friends Rahul, Gaurav and Nitesh in the crime,” Ghaziabad SP (city) Shlok Kumar said.Police said all four accused used to work for Sharma in past in his property dealing business.
