RWA body opposes floor-wise registry

Noida: Nearly a week after Noida Authority gave an in-principle approval for floor-wise registries on plotted houses, the RWA federation on Thursday opposed the move, saying it would lead to logistical and infrastructure issues for the city.“We’ve been raising the demand for freehold property for all residents of Noida, but it was the Authority that floated the floor-wise registry proposal. “Now, the government will have to take a call on the issue,” he added. We strongly oppose the move as it would take a toll on the infrastructure of the city, which was planned for one owner per plot pattern,” said NP Singh, president, Federation of Noida Residents Welfare Associations (FONRWA).According to Singh, though neighbouring Delhi and Ghaziabad allow floor-wise registration in most of its areas, Noida is not ready for it. “If the government allows floor-wise registries on plotted houses, then how will the city bear the burden of parking, sanitation, sewage issues in absence of requisite infrastructure?” he asked.Noida Authority had, on November 1 last year, taken up in-principle the proposal for floor-wise registry of properties for the first time and subsequently sought feedback from the general public on the matter. When contacted, an official of the Authority said feedback was sought from the public, based on which the proposal was accepted in-principle and sent to the state government.
