4 firms show ‘interest’ in land after CM biz meet at MotoGP

Noida: Four companies have shown interest in setting up units off the Yamuna Expressway, senior UP government officials said on Monday, a day after chief minister Yogi Adity-anath met CEOs and representatives of top bike and tyre manufacturers at the Invest UP conclave held on Sunday on the sidelines of the inaugural edition of MotoGP Bharat at the Buddh International Circuit.Representatives of some of the companies present at the conclave were Red Bull, Shell, KTM, Ducati, Honda, Yamaha Motors, American Racing, BMW, Amazon, DHL and Petronas. Jorge Viegas, president of Federation Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) — the international governing body for motorcycle racing — and Carmelo Ezpeleta, CEO of Dorna — which owns the commercial rights for MotoGP — were also present. Calling UP the fastest-growing economy in the country, the CM urged CEOs to invest in the state. There is immense possibility to invest in the automobile and sports sector, he said. On Monday, Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority CEO Arun Vir Singh said four companies — Ducati, Dunlop, Yamaha and MRF — had expressed interest in investing in the district. We held preliminary talks with officials of the four companies. They said they would send their representatives in the next 10 days. They will see the site and prepare a report for their respective companies.
