Woman shot dead, cops suspect spat over cash

NOIDA: A 40-year-old domestic help was shot dead just a few meters away from her house allegedly by two unidentified bike-borne assailants in the Dadri area of Greater Noida on Tuesday morning. Preliminary probe suggests money dispute and sibling rivalry behind the shooting.According to the police, Raj Kumari, a resident of Saraswati Vihar, Dadri used to work as a domestic help. Two bike-borne assailants opened fire at her around 200-300m away from her home at 8.30am and fled from the spot. She was on her way to Surajpur for work, said Saad Miya Khan, DCP of Greater Noida, adding that the deceased, who had received three bullet injuries, was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.Locals from the area informed the cops, following which a team of police from Dadri police station reached the spot.Initial investigation revealed that the deceased frequently argued over money with her sister. The deceaseds daughter told us about conflict between Kumari and her sister, identified as Sonia, a resident of Palwal in Haryana. Sonia allegedly threatened Kumari as well, added Khan.The deceased body has been sent for a postmortem. An FIR has been registered under charges of murder of the Indian Penal Code. Police teams are scanning CCTV footage of the area and we will nab the accused soon.
