‘Be cautious as dengue tally rising despite rain’

Noida: As dengue cases in GB Nagar are at 546, doctors have advised people to be cautious despite no rainfall recently, the cases were still rising. This is due to favourable conditions for the adeno mosquitoes, which will continue to bite till the temperature goes below 15 degrees. Ghaziabad has also reported 14 new dengue cases on Wednesday pushing the tally to 608. Dr Shruti Kirti Verma, district malaria officer, said, A fine of Rs 5,000 has been imposed on a construction company in Sector 61 as dengue larvae were found near the settlement of the labourers at the site. Among the new patients in Ghaziabad, the youngest patient is a one-year-old boy, and the eldest is a 74-year-old man from Avantika Vihar. The other areas where dengue cases were reported include Sihani Gate, Vasundhara, Sen Vihar, Patel Nagar, Loni, Govindpuram, Crossing Republic, and Mohan Nagar."On Wednesday, 61 malaria teams visited 52 localities in rural as well as urban areas in the district and issued notices wherever larvae are found. And in Chennai, an open channel in a metro rail parking lot has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.Dengue cases touch 166 in districtThe district of Indore in India has seen a significant increase in dengue cases, with numbers more than doubling in the last four weeks. The spike in infections can be attributed to heavy rainfall and humid weather conditions, providing a suitable breeding ground for mosquitoes. The district malaria office has intensified anti-larvae drives and carried out surveys in thousands of households. This increase in dengue cases mirrors the rising trend in other cities such as Mumbai, Gurgaon, and Coimbatore, where authorities are also implementing preventive measures.Dengue cases on rise in stateDengue cases in Chhattisgarh are on the rise, with over 800 patients reported across the state. Raipur has the highest number of cases, with more than two dozen patients admitted to Ambedkar Hospital. The Municipal Corporation has deployed 750 employees in 48 wards to tackle the situation.
