NOIDA: The boyfriend of a 23-year-old woman who was found bludgeoned to death in her room in Greater Noidas Ecotech 3 area on Sunday morning was arrested in connection with the murder.Police said call records showed Sumit Kumar (24) had spoken to Pinky just hours before she was killed with repeated blows of a brick in the head and face. Sumit, who had lost his job two months earlier, would often ask Pinky to bear his expenses. After her marriage was fixed with another man, things allegedly turned murky between Pinky and Sumit.Around 6.30am on Sunday, Pinkys family found her dead in a room that was hardly used by anyone. Her mother, sister and niece were asleep in another room on the second floor of the building when she was killed.After her father passed away years ago, Pinky would rent out rooms to people to sustain the family. Pinkys family has rented out 48 rooms in total in three buildings in the area.How Delhi Police constable murdered colleague, kept secret for 2 years"Pinky and Sumit were friends for the past two years. He would often come home to meet her," said Suniti, DCP (central Noida).Sumit visited Pinky a little after Saturday midnight. "Both had an argument. Sumit picked up a brick lying nearby and smashed Pinkys head and face with it. He sneaked out of the room as others were asleep," the DCP said.Police said Pinky tried to fight off her attacker as things were strewn on the floor. The blood-stained brick, with which she was attacked, lay nearby. There were blood marks outside the room where her mother and sister were asleep too. "We came to know that Pinky had a boyfriend who was jobless for some time. Her family said ties turned sour between them as her marriage was fixed to someone else. We are probing the claims," Suniti said.Sumit was traced through his phones location and arrested on Monday. A murder case was registered against him at Ecotech-3 police station.
