Cows grazing on road & broken walls won’t impress investors: Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi

NOIDA: Industrial development minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi reviewed the MoUs signed during the UP Global Investors Summit in February this year at a meeting with Greater Noida authority officials. He instructed officials not to hold up completion certificates or layout approvals by raising unnecessary objections.The Uttar Pradesh government received investment proposals worth Rs 37.5 lakh crore during the summit.In Greater Noida, we have received investment proposals worth Rs 60,000 crore. Out of this, projects worth Rs 40,000 crore are in progress, and we have already secured Rs 30,000 crore. Discussions are ongoing for the remaining Rs 10,000 crore, Nandi said, adding the groundbreaking ceremony for projects worth Rs 10 lakh crore will be held soon.On Tuesday, Nandi also directed officials to conduct meetings on the fifth day of every month, where CEOs would assess development projects and submit reports to the government after a thorough review.The minister said officials were instructed to avoid delay in issuing completion and functional certificates to industrialists by raising unnecessary objections.Nandi also reviewed the Ganga water project and urged the Authority to start the supply to all sectors promptly. The Authority was also directed to issue recovery certificates and act against all major defaulters who have not paid their dues. He emphasised the need to expedite land acquisition from farmers for industrial investment and development.The ministerexpressed dissatisfaction with the neglect and arbitrariness in the citys beautification efforts and said cows grazing on the road, broken boundaries and wire fencing would not have a positive impression on prospective investors. Attention should be given to greenery and action should taken against non-performing contractors, he said. The minister also proposed to divide the sectors into zones with nodal officers at the helm.
