NOIDA: A woman who had an on-and-off extra-marital affair with a 55-year-old construction site supervisor was among three arrested on Tuesday for allegedly murdering him. Her husband and a college student they knew were also nabbed.Police said Bharat Chauhan, Seema Devis husband, recently came to know about her affair with Shashi Sharma and confronted her.The couple, along with BTech student Raja Tiwari, visited Shashi at his rented accomodation in Sector 40 on Sunday. After a heated exchange, Shashi allegedly slapped Seema. Then the trio allegedly overpowered him and slit his throat.Shashis wife could not contact him and sent his relative, Dharmendra Sharma, to his place on Monday. Dharmendra discovered the body and contacted police. Shashi was found in his room in a pool of blood with his throat slit. We sent his body for a postmortem. His family lodged a complaint, and an FIR was filed under IPC Section 302 (murder), said DCP Noida Harish Chander. During their investigation, police learned three people, including a woman, were spotted with Shashi on Sunday. With the help of local intelligence and informers, police picked up the suspects from under Mahamaya flyover on Tuesday.We found two of Sashis phones on them. Further, we learned Bharat and Seema married in 2006 and started living in Sector 62. Bharat, who runs a tea stall and works as a construction labourer, met Shashi at work in 2021. Shashi built a room on the same plot where the couple lived. Soon afterward, Bharat found Shashi and Seema in an inappropriate position, after which Shashi moved to Sector 40, he said. In October this year, Shashi took up work in Sector 63 and started to meet Seema again. They had contacted earlier, but Bharat was unaware of it. On October 27, Seema spoke to Shashi on Bharats phone. Bharat heard the call recording and confronted his wife, who attempted to end her life, Chander said.Raja Tiwari, a resident of Gorakhpur, had come to Noida to study. He is a first-year BTech (mechanical engineering) student at Maharishi University. Tiwari often visited Bharats tea stall, and he tagged along with the couple on Sunday, Chander added.When the trio reached Shashis place, he was not there, said ACP Rajneesh Verma. Seema then called Shashi and asked him to meet her at his place. When he reached, tehy talked about the affair. At a point, Shashi slapped Seema. Then Tiwari hit Shashi with his kada (bangle). The trio overpowered Shashi and slit his throat, Verma said, adding that they fled on a bike.
