Noida: The DIOS issued an order on Tuesday directing all schools to set up transport safety committees. Currently, there are 1,778 school buses operational in the district.The committees, to be headed by the district magistrate, will be empowered to inquire about the age and approval of vehicle permits, and identify parking and stop points of school vehicles. It adds that nursery and kindergarten students have to be handed to their parents or nominated guardians. There should also be a woman attendant in every school bus, especiall if there are girls onboard.The guidelines are in line with the Supreme Courts order and each school must comply with it.
