Snake venom case: Police ask for a day to quiz accused on Elvish links

Noida: Rahul Yadav (32), one of the five arrested for allegedly supplying snake venom at parties, have been taken on remand on Thursday for another day for questioning, police said. Earlier this week, the police recovered a diary from Rahuls house with entries mentioning at least six locations in Delhi, Gurgaon and Faridabad where, police suspect, snake venom was supplied as a substitute for opioids. Police claim his interrogation was crucial to ascertain the involvement of YouTuber and reality TV star Elvish Yadav and others in the case. Elvish is among six persons who were booked last week on a complaint by BJP MP Maneka Gandhis NGO People for Animals (PFA) that accused him of supplying snake venom at parties. He was questioned in the case last week. The other accused, besides Rahul Yadav, are Teetunath (45), Jaikaran (50), Narayan (50) and Ravinath (45), all residents of Delhis Badarpur. They were all arrested on November 2.During Rahuls remand last week, we had recovered a diary from his house. The diary had a list of locations where parties were held. Some contact numbers of people, who are believed to have organised these parties, have also been found. We wanted to Rahul question him in custody further to find the involvement of Elvish in the case, an officer, who is part of the investigation, said. Rahul is believed to be a key link between the nexus and several celebrities. In the complaint filed by PFA officer-bearers said they posed as organisers of a rave party and asked the YouTuber to supply snake poison at a banquet hall in Sector 51. Elvish, they alleged, directed them to Rahul, who met the PFA team outside the banquet hall along with four snake charmers. The five were nabbed and a vial with 20ml liquid — believed to be venom — and nine snakes, including five cobras and a python — were recovered from them.Elvish, in a video posted on X, denied the allegation that he supplied snake venom.
