Noida: A total of 18 government primary schools in the city will get additional classrooms in the first phase. The district education department has received a fund of Rs 80 lakh out of the approved Rs 1.6 crore for this purpose. Each classroom will be built for Rs 5.95 lakh.Officials maintained that there will be a total of 27 classrooms across the four blocks.TOI reported earlier that several schools in the district lacked sufficient classrooms for students. Officials added that in the second phase, names of over 30 schools have been submitted, which require additional classrooms.The number of classrooms required per school will depend on the number of students enrolled in the individual schools. One classroom will have a capacity of 40 students, said an official.Three classes each will be made in three schools, one class each in 12 schools, and two classes each in three schools. Construction in schools will start after approval from the district magistrate.It is difficult to conduct classes in harsh weather conditions, especially during winter and scorching summer.
