Murder to loot, cams helped police solve 360 cases in 5 mths

Noida: Over 31,000 cameras have been installed across the district at 11,524 spots under Mission Trinetra, which involved the installation of CCTV cameras at all vantage points, officials said. The move enhanced police capabilities in curbing crime and improving public safety, as they solved 360 cases in the district in the past five months using footagefrom these CCTVs.These cases include theft and burglary, murder, dacoity, loot, kidnapping for ransom, accidents, snatching, etc.Laxmi Singh, commissioner of police, highlighted the crucial role of CCTV footage in solving cases. "We can catch the criminals faster if real-time footage or feed is available. In many cases, police are clueless for days as no footage of the crime location or locality is available. But Mission Trinetra has started yielding results. Our teams analysed and identified 11,524 prime spots where we have 31,246 cameras installed so far," Singh said.These cameras are of premium quality, which offer clear night vision, further enhancing their effectiveness. "Police stations now receive live feeds from these CCTVs, enabling continuous monitoring and real-time response to the incidents.
