U’khand handicrafts fair to start on Dec 21

Noida: The 13th Maha Kauthig Mela, a cultural, musical and handicrafts fair depicting the food and folklore of Uttarakhand, will be held at the Noida Stadium from December 21-25. Parvatiya Sanskritik Sanstha is organising the fair. Rajendra Chauhan, chief convenor, said the fair will be inaugurated with a procession at 11am on December 21. The event aims to highlight industrial development, religious traditions, and progress of Uttarakhand, along with traditional folk art, handicrafts, and customs. Special attention will be given to youth participation.NABARD to organise handicraft fair from December 21-26 in JaipurNABARD will organize a handicraft fair at Jawahar Kala Kendra in Jaipur from December 21 to 26. The fair aims to promote effective marketing of rural artisans products and enable them to understand the demands of urban customers. Around 150 rural artisans, weavers, self-help groups, and entrepreneurs from across the country will participate, showcasing GI certified products. Customers can purchase exclusive textiles, handicrafts, food products, and lifestyle products. The fair will also feature cultural programs. NABARD, a government-owned apex development bank, promotes sustainable and equitable agriculture and rural development.Milk record: Murrah buffalo wins tractor at Barnala fairAmit Dhandas buffalo, Sakshi, from Hisar district, Haryana, set a record by producing 22.3 kg of milk at the cattle fair in Barnala district, Punjab. Dhanda won a tractor for this achievement at the Dhanaula fair. Sakshi is the offspring of Sultan, a famous buffalo from Kaithal, whose sperm is highly valuable and was priced at Rs 21 crore at the Pushkar fair. Dhanda, a junior engineer in the Haryana canal department, is passionate about animal husbandry and meticulously monitors the temperature, fodder intake, and water consumption of his buffaloes and cows.
