NOIDA: A masked woman shot dead a 28-year-old woman, who was residing with her live-in partner in a rented flat in Sai Baba Colony at Salarpur village, on Wednesday morning.Fatally wounded in neck, Kanchan was rushed to Yatharth Hospital Sector 110 where she was declared brought dead. A male colleague of the accused reportedly stood guard outside the building, and the pair fled away on the bike after committing the crime.Kanchan, a native of Raebareli, had shifted in the one-room set rented accommodation at the first floor of two-storey building with her partner Kunal (30) on August 5. Kunal, a native of Kanpur, works as a cook in a private school in Noida Sector 40.The incident took place at around 10:30am. House owner Hemwati said that she went to the local market to buy some goods. "I returned and found a huge crowd outside my house. I came to know that a masked woman barged into Kanchan's room and shot in her neck from point blank range and fled away," she said.Police later detained her partner Kunal for questioning who was at workplace at the time of incident. "We had no personal enmity which could have led such incident," Kunal told police."We are investigating the matter with multiple angles. Prima facie it seems it could be a case of extra-marital affair. We are trying to find out the accused woman and her male accomplice," said Arun Kumar Singh, SP (city) Noida.
