Pune: A private finance firm owner shot himself using his licensed revolver in his Hadapsar office on Friday.Prima facie probe revealed that the victim, Arvind Phalke (58), ran the firm with two partners. Their business ran into trouble and Phalke’s partners left, said senior inspector Vishnu Pawar of the Hadapsar police.Pawar said prima facie the firm’s loss could be the reason behind Phalke’s suicide. “He has left a suicide note at his relative’s house. We are yet to get details about what he wrote,”he said.Phalke came to his office near Tupe Auditorium in Hadapsar in the afternoon and had lunch, brought from his home. “He then told his employees not to disturb him as he was going to sleep in his cabin. Around 3pm, the employees heard a gunshot from his cabin,” Pawar said.When they rushed inside the cabin, they saw Phalke lying unconscious on the floor and bleeding profusely. “The employees alerted Phalke’s relatives and the police,” Pawar said.The police found Phalke had shot himself in his chest.
