PUNE: The city unit of Congress party has planned a " silent morcha " on May 28 to protest against four years of "disappointing" performance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the centre and its complete failure in resolving issues being faced by common citizens The "silent morcha" will leave from the Mahatma Phule Mandai in the morning around 10.30 and will end at the Keshavrao Jedhe chowk. The party's officer bearers, leaders, former MLAs and workers will participate in the agitation.The local leaders from the Congress said that the last four years of BJP's government were disappointing and people have completely lost faith in the government. The government has failed to perform on many fronts. The common citizens are forced to tackle inflation and increased prices of fuel. The employment generation has gone down while industries are facing challenges because of wrongly implemented demonetization and GST.Congress city unit president Ramesh Bagwe said that there was unrest among common people because of the haphazard decisions taken by BJP government in the centre and state. The local issues have not been resolved despite BJP having a complete majority at the centre, state and in Pune Municipal Corporation. The BJP has also failed to maintain social harmony in the society, he added.
