(Express Photo by Arul Horizon) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday asked opposition parties to first question themselves “over the delay in completing development projects while they were in power”, before pointing fingers at the BJP-led government in state. He was speaking at the release function of MP Anil Shirole’s ‘performance report’, in Pune on Friday. This is the second time Shirole, who was elected as the MP from Pune city in 2014, has released his performance report. Calling Shirole an MP with a ‘clean image’ , the Chief Minister said, “Shirole has been one of the most dedicated MPs and has made meaningful contributions to society. He is among the few who regularly follows up on projects pertaining to Pune and those which have a larger impact on the nation’s progress.” Fadnavis said in the last four years, “the pace of development has accelerated, both in the state and in Pune city in particular… All projects, be it Metro, the new international airport or affordable housing, have taken wings… they were otherwise mere mentions in government files”. In his report, Shirole mentioned projects such as Pune Metro, planning a Ring Road and the “effective work” by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and Smart City, among others. He said, “In the last four years, we have been able to put Pune in a better position as many of the projects which were neglected by all previous governments, like the new international airport at Purandar and Smart City, are now taking shape.“ For all the latest Pune News, download Indian Express App
