Pune: The minimum temperature in the city on Monday climbed to an unusually warm 18.2°C.Weather officials said this was because of the moisture and humidity caused by a trough across Marathwada. The weather system is also likely to bring some rain in Madhya Maharashtra till November 21, India Meteorological Department (IMD) officials said.On Monday, IMD forecast partly cloudy skies and light rain in some areas in Pune on November 19 and 20.“A trough in the easterlies, running from north-interior Karnataka to Vidarbha across Marathwada, has brought humidity and cloudy conditions in Madhya Maharashtra, including Pune. The effect of the trough is likely to remain for a couple of days,” said the official.He added that the humidity and cloudy conditions were responsible for the surge in Monday’s minimum temperature. “Once the trough is gone, the minimum temperatures are likely to start falling again,” he said.The IMD has also forecast rain in Pune, Osmanabad and Ahmednagar districts till November 20, and Kolhapur , Satara, Sangli and Solapur till November 21.The minimum temperature in Shivajinagar on Monday was 18.2°C, 3.9°C higher than normal. It climbed to 19.5°C in Lohegaon, 4.5°C above normal. On Sunday, the minimum temperature was 15.9°C in Shivajinagar and 17.4°C in Lohegaon.
