Forest dept installs cage in Dingore after leopard scare

Pimpri Chinchwad: The forest department on Monday installed a cage in Dingori village in Junnar taluka, a day after a leopard entered a house in the middle of a sugar cane field on Sunday.Vishal Adagale, beat-in charge, Ottur, forest department, told TOI, “The leopard appeared from the sugar cane field when Sindhubai Lohote (50) was sitting outside the house, while her family members were inside it. The animal ran out of the house after the family started screaming.”Forest department officials are conducting night patrolling in Dingore and its surrounding villages. “We have told villagers to keep their domestic animals in enclosures and avoid venturing out alone at night,” he said.When contacted, Lohote said, “The leopard entered the house when I was sitting outside on a cot, while my daughter-in-law with her three daughters was watching the television inside.
