Pune: Residents of Market Yard and Ganeshnagar faced disruptions in water supply on Tuesday morning following sudden malfunction in a valve installed at a water distribution line.The harried residents said the administration should inspect all the valves and joints at the distribution line to avoid such instances. The supply was resumed late in the afternoon after the repairs.Officials from the PMCs water supply department said water pressure might have contributed to the fault in the valve.Santosh Shinde, a local resident, said this was the second such case in the area over last few months. The area already receives erratic and low-pressure water supply. PMC should conduct regular checks of the water distribution system, Shinde said.Activist Santosh Nangare said the citizens found themselves in a tight spot due to the sudden supply closure. Ajey Wagh, another resident, said PMC should keep a close watch on the staffers deployed for valve operations.Civic officials said they would inspect the valves at critical points.
